Betty D. Bolds, 83, St. Elmo

Betty D. Bolds, 83, of St. Elmo, died at 4:46 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at New Horizons Church, St. Elmo, with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Friends of the St. Elmo Park District, New Horizons Church or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Darlene Bolds was born on Thursday, January 26, 1939 in St. Elmo, IL to Willard and Marguerite (Haslett) Evans. She married James Bolds on May 9, 1959 at the First Baptist Church, St. Elmo. She was employed at Richardson Brothers and Stella D’Oro in St. Elmo. She was a member of the New Horizons Non-Denominational Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

She is survived by; daughters, Terri (Ricke) Gillespie of St. Elmo and Susan (Mike) Cody of New Berlin; brother, Gary (Frana) Evans; sister, JoAnn (Jim) Newburn, five grandchildren, Meghan (Dominic) Deters, Zach (Brianna) Gillespie, Erica (Derek) Beckman, Alex (Amy) Gillespie, Nicholas Cody and Jason (Daisy) Cody; 16 great-grandchildren, Gracie, Zayden, Jayce, Grayson, Quayde, Jackson, Maxwell, Henry, Stella, Riley, Reid, Ryder, Cyrina, Elloise, Isaac and Sam. 

She was preceded in death by; husband James, her parents and brother-in-law, Roy Feldkamp.
