Floyd K. Ritter, 84, Collinsville

Floyd Keith Ritter, age 84 of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his residence.

Floyd was born in Vandalia, IL on December 2, 1937, the only child to the late Floyd Emerick and Geraldine Ritter.  He graduated Vandalia High School in 1955, and enlisted for 6 years as a Reserve of the Army.  He married Vivian (nee Sanders) Ritter on August 19, 1968.  Floyd worked as a crane operator at Granite City Steel for 31 years until retiring.  He was President of Antique Bowie Knife Association, President of St. Louis Gateway Indian Art Club, and member of the Central State Archaeological Society.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian Ritter; two children:  Kelly Ritter (Tina Wykoff, Victoria and Zachary) of Collinsville, IL and Steve (Julie) Ritter of Collinsville, IL; one granddaughter, Cora Ritter.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
