Steven Pattillo, 49, of Altamont
Steven “Blake” Pattillo was born J
uly 3, 1972 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois, son of Steve and Janet (Beccue) Pattillo.
He went to St Elmo (Illinois) Community Schools, where he graduated in 1990.
He enjoyed playing sports in school, as well as waterskiing and showing horses.
Blake married Lori Gerkin on June 14, 1997 at the First United Methodist Church in Vandallia, Illinois.
Blake worked in many facets of the oil industry from his teenage years on and was a member of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Altamont (Illinois).
Since 2014, Blake and his family spent most of their time residing in Weatherford, TX, where he was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association.
Blake passed away following a brief illness January 1, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Langston and Hudson; two daughters, Maryn and Brielle; his parents; two brothers, Troy and his wife Vici of St Elmo, and Aaron of Effingham; and sisters, Laura and her husband Bart of Joelton, TN, Judy of Round Lake, NY, and Lisa of Shiloh, IL; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Blake at the First Baptist Church of Altamont on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11 am.
