Billy “Bill” R. Warden, 70, of Mulberry Grove, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia, with military rites by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia, and Brownstown VFW Post #9770. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at Parkview Free Methodist Church Vandalia. Memorials may be made to the Litchfield Airport. He was born May 29, 1951, in Granite City, the son of Billy Jack and Melba Louise (Wilson) Warden. He married Shirley M. Shuckhart on July 17, 1987, in Morganfield, KY. He worked at Caterpillar as a tool and die maker for 31 years; Country Side Disposal for 14 years; farmed and raised cattle; US Army National Guard and was affiliated with Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia. Bill loved farming, watching old westerns and listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Warden, Mulberry Grove; a son, Trampis Warden, Vandalia; daughters, DeAnna Clinard and Duane, Irving, and Kimberly (Warden) Ritter and Matt, Vandalia; grandchildren – Tressie, Brodie, Stephanie, Shaun, Blake and Macie; great-grandchildren Adilyn, Dalani, Logan, Gunner, Gage, Maya and Quinevere; and brothers Stan Warden, Carterville, and Bruce Warden, Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Fred Warden.
