Maurice L. Sefton, 72, Arkansas

Maurice L. Sefton, 72, of Morrilton, Ark., and formerly of Fayette County, died on Sunday, May 10, 2009.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Forbis Cemetery in Fayette County. Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Rockefeller Cancer Center, 4301 W. Markham St., No. 623, Little Rock, Ark.; Arkansas Hospice of Conway, 1014 Markham St. No. 1, Conway, Ark.; or Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 204 N. 10th St., Watertown, Wis., 63094.

Mr. Sefton was born on July 15, 1936, in Fayette County, the son of Leo T. and Erma Frailey Sefton.

He was a funeral director for Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, Ark., and a former director for Flanner Buchanan Mortuaries in Indianapolis, Ind., and Koepsell Funeral Homes in Watertown and Mayville, Wis. He was a former coroner in Fayette County, member of the American and Arkansas Funeral Directors’ associations, and former president of the Indiana Funeral Directors’s Association. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wis.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Amanda Teeter Sefton of Morrilton; son, Joseph Sefton and his wife Sandy of Greenfield, Ind.; daughters, Rebecca Heath, and Sarah and her husband Dan Travis, both of Lebanon, Ind.; and grandchildren, Spencer Sefton, Caitlin Heath, Bennett Heath, Ian Eddingfield and Levi Crawford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jennifer Crawford.
