Vandalia City Council Meeting

At the Monday, Dec. 8, special meeting of the Vandalia City Council, in New Business Public Questions & Comments, these items were approved:

– Ordinance # 2025-12-8-A, establishing the Annual Tax Levy for the Fiscal Year, beginning May 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026,

– Ordinance # 2025-12-8-B (Amended), establishing and imposing certain Business District Taxes in the City of Vandalia, West Randolph Street and Veterans’ Avenue Business District (IDOR requested),

– Ordinance # 2025-12-8-C, regarding a Preliminary and Final Plat for Rustic Estates Subdivision, and

– Ordinance # 2025-12-8-D, amending the Vandalia Municipal Code at Title 11 – Lake Ordinance (regarding Lake Lot list) – City Clerk Carla Huhn asked that the date for the Lake Lot list, January 1, 2026, be extended, to give lot owners more time to understand the process. A new date, May 1, 2026, was approved, 4 to 1.

The City Council moved into Executive Session.

The next regularly scheduled City Council Meeting is Monday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia City Hall. The Public is encouraged to attend.
