South Central softball wins 4th straight regional title
South Central Junior High won its fourth consecutive regional championship over the weekend.
The South Central Junior High softball team won its fourth straight regional title, and the Vandalia Junior High baseball team advanced to the regional championship.
In advancing to the sectional, the Lady Cougars avenged two regular season losses to Dieterich with a 6-1 win after advancing with a win over West Salem.
They were to face Martinsville on Tuesday afternoon in the Hutsonville Sectional.
Vandalia defeated Robinson, 4-1, to advance after wrapping up the regular season with a 13-1-1 record by finishing up with wins over Staunton and Mulberry Grove.
The Vandals were to face Effingham in the regional final on Wednesday in Effingham.
