Vandalia man charged in Fayette County Court

Benjamin J. Springsteen, 25 of Vandalia was charged with Armed Violence (Class X Felony) along with 3 other charges including Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor), and Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Police (Class A Misdemeanor).
Pretrial release was denied to the defendant on the People’s Petition, which will see Springsteen remain in the Fayette County Jail.
Springsteen will be in court again on September 9th at 9am.
