Vandalia Rotary Club Celebrates Annual Banquet and Honors Service
On June 26, 2026, the Vandalia Rotary Club gathered at the Vandalia Country Club for its annual banquet—a special evening of dining, fellowship, and celebration.
One of the night’s most meaningful moments was the announcement that the club’s Rotarian of the Year award will now be renamed in honor of the late Jack Johnston, a highly respected and dedicated Rotarian who exemplified Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self. The award will now be known as the Jack B. Johnston Rotarian of the Year Award. Fittingly, the first recipient of this newly named honor was Jan Johnston, who accepted the award with gratitude and deep connection to Jack and his legacy. The club looks forward to continuing to honor Jack by striving to serve others with the same commitment he showed throughout his years of service.
The evening also marked the traditional passing of the gavel ceremony, as outgoing president Justin Rubin handed leadership over to the new club president, Patrick Click. The club recognized Justin’s leadership over the past year and excitement for the year ahead under Patrick’s guidance.
Additionally, the club was proud to induct Marina Worman as its newest member, celebrating the growth and fresh energy she brings to the group.
As the Vandalia Rotary Club heads into its 100th year, members shared their enthusiasm for what’s ahead, with big plans in store and a continued focus on service, community, and fellowship. Keep an eye out for what the Rotary has planned as it celebrates a century of making a difference!
