Brown, Bowers advance to Girls State Track Meet

Vandalia’s Sophie Bowers and Hannah Brown have qualified for the IHSA State Girls Track Meet this week.

Bowers qualified in the 400-meter run by finishing second with a time of 59.71 seconds at the Newton Sectional.

Brown qualified in the shot put by finishing second with a toss of 11.29 meters and in the discus by finishing fourth with a throw of 33.81 meters.
