Plenty Of Labor Day Fun Planned In St. Elmo
The city of St. Elmo will once again host a variety of fun and exciting activities for their annual Labor Day celebration next weekend.
The medal hunt begins on Thursday but things really get going on Friday, August 30 when the Hip Huggers will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. at the park. There will also be around town rummage sales starting Friday and going all weekend.
On Saturday the Main Event is happening downtown starting at 10 a.m. where there will be vendors and food trucks all day. Michael Beran of the Wildlife Command Center will be available from 2-4 p.m. for the Party Paws mobile petting zoo. The Forged in Fire Celebrity Grudge Match returns again this year and will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. downtown, hosted by Forge a Memory.
On Sunday, the Main Event returns starting at 11 a.m. downtown. ‘Your Hometown Heroes’ will have free forging for veterans downtown starting at noon, hosted by Forge a Memory. There will also by country music and a BBQ dinner at The Table from 5 to 7 p.m.
Monday, September 2 will see a plethora of activities throughout town for Labor Day. The annual pancake and sausage breakfast will take place at the firehouse starting at 6 a.m. and will run until 9:30 a.m. The parade will follow, stepping off at 10:30 a.m. while the Main Event gets going downtown from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
At the park, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family following the parade. The quarter carnival and petting zoo will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the Jr. Rig Hand Contest starting at noon. Also at noon, there will be a Corn Hole Tournament.
Dan Patton & The Straight Lace Band will perform from 1 to 3 p.m. at the park. Bingo will happen from 2 to 5 p.m. with the cake walk starting at 5 p.m. Loudon County will perform live from 5 to 8 p.m. at the park.
The Citizen of the Year will be awarded at 6 p.m.
Bring the family out for a great time this weekend as there will be plenty to see and do in St. Elmo at the annual Labor Day Celebration.
