Patoka Native Drew Baldridge Hits #1

Singer, Songwriter and Patoka Illinois native Drew Baldridge has topped the County Music charts with his song “She’s Somebody’s Daughter.”
Baldridge is the first self funded artist to hit #1 on the charts.
Living in Nashville Tennessee for the past 13 years, Baldridge was signed to an independent label (Cold River) and in 2016 released the album “Dirt on Us” that reached number 11 on the Billboard County Album Chart. But in 2019 his record company went out of business and parted ways with his booking agent and his manager.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, he began promoting a song he had written for the students who missed their graduations called “Senior Year”. The song reached #50 and set in motion his plan for his song “She’s Somebody’s Daughter”.
In 2021, he re-recorded “She’s Somebody’s Daughter” for his wife and her father to dance to at their wedding. Drew had previously recorded the song in 2019 but Cold River decided against releasing it. The re-recorded version went viral on tiktok and had 100 million streams and 1 billion impressions on the app.
The third version of the song was recorded at the end of 2022 with more instrumentation. He then formed his own promotional team in lieu of hiring an independent company and took his career in his own hands. With Baldridge owning the masters to his music catalog, all the revenue he generates, along with tour dates, funds his promotions team.
Drew Baldridge’s 2nd Annual BIG Baldridge and Bonfire Music Festival is set for September 28, 2024 in Nauvoo Illinois.
