One Pint of Donated Blood Can Save Three Lives

Teresa Rinne, Representative for Impact Life made an impassioned plea for Rotarians to spread the word about donating blood. Even if “ you can not donate yourself, for whatever reason, you can encourage someone who CAN donate!” Teresa organizes and promotes blood drives in nine Illinois counties, including Fayette County. Summer is trauma season with more accidents and a greater demand for blood. She reminded the Rotarians that even with all of our medical advances blood has not changed… it can not be manufactured and humans can not use animal blood for transfusions. Impact Life has contracts with local hospitals like Sara Bush Lincoln/Fayette County Hospital to supply blood.
