Vandalia City Council Holds Meeting

On April 1, the Vandalia City Council held a meeting.
First on the agenda was to hear the first reading of a class E liquor license request also hearing a first reading of a video gaming license application for Murray’s Restaurant LLC. Their plans are to get a restaurant open similar to their food truck they currently are operating with the addition of a steakhouse with a bar and gaming. Plans are to be open 7 days a week. Action will be taken on the license at the April 15 meeting
A request for a liquor license increase from a class M to 1 for Harrys 66 Gaming. Request was approved by the council. The Council then heard a request for Guru Krupa III, Inc. dba. Harrys 66, to approve or reject on a video gaming license application that was approved.
Ordinance approving the adoption by vote certification for CM’s Rock Salt Survey was approved.
The transfer of Lake Lot 59 from Stephen Friedel of Bloomington, IL to Julie and Paul Anderson of Wood River IL was approved, as was the transfer of Lake Lot 45 from Brent and Abby Bayles of Vandalia to Mark Burgess of Effingham.
Camper living ordinance, preventing people living in recreational vehicles on residential property was approved. Trailers or other similar recreational vehicles shall not be used as living quarters other than in camping trailer parks.
Lake camping tentatively to open on April 15
Talks are underway to fix the trellis in Lincoln Park. George Evans of Kaskaskia College was contacted about cost of materials.
Next City Council meeting will be held on April 15.
