South Central has good showing in Proficiency Awards

South Central FFA had a successful night at the District 4 Proficiency Awards on March 6. They all worked very hard and positively represented South Central.
Illinois FFA recognizes students in 47 areas based on their work-based learning, also known as Supervised Agricultural Experiences or SAE.
FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through record-keeping, leadership, and academic achievement may be considered for this award.
SAE’s allow students to learn by owning and operating an agricultural business, working or serving an internship at an agriculture-based business, or conducting an agriculture-based scientific experiment and reporting results.
• Callaway Smith placed first in the area of Wildlife Production and Management. He will be moving on to state awards later this month.
• Hailey Shuler: 2nd in Diversified Livestock Production (Top 10 in State)
• Evan Hoover: 2nd in Diversified Crop Production (Top 10 in State)
• Micah Kraemer: Fruit Production Honorable Mention
• Biar Brown: Ag Mech Repair and Maintenance Honorable Mention
• Keira Langley: Ag Processing Honorable Mention
• Hailey Shuler: Section STAR Farmer Honorable Mention
