Crystal ‘Crysti’ Hicks, 60, Ramsey

Crystal “Crysti” Hicks of Ramsey, passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 27, 2024 due to natural causes. Her loss is completely unexpected, and her family is profoundly saddened.

Born February 13, 1964 to Gene and Pam Hicks, Crysti lived her rambunctious youth in Ramsey and Decatur, IL with her two sisters Gena and Lisa.

Crysti met the love of her life Steve Coates in Vandalia, IL. The two had an instant connection, and knew from the first date that they wanted to start a family together. Crysti and Steve built a life together with many friends in Big Sandy, TN. It was here they started their family consisting of three daughters Stevie, Bailee, and Marty before Steve’s preceding death in 1998. Her children found their own families in Brett Woker, Nathan Brewer-Davis, and Drew Logsdon respectively. Forever proud of her children, Crysti considered her girls to be her entire world.

Crysti was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had the biggest heart. She was bold, full of life, and always helped someone when she could. Crysti was excited to be a new grandmother to her grandsons Harvey and Benton Woker, and loved to sing along to country music.

She will be remembered for both the excitement and heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them, and showed this in her own way.

An informal open house for visiting and sharing memories will be hosted at Ramsey Christian Church on Saturday March 09, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm.
