John E. Adermann, 91, Vandalia
John E. Adermann, 91, of Vandalia, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey, with Father Seth Brown officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Ramsey. Mr. Adermann was born on Feb. 18, 1933, in Bingham, the son of Frederick Otto and Helen Alberta (Marty) Adermann. He was a retired farmer; served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; was a member of VFW Post 3862 in Vandalia, American Legion Post #95, Ramsey Lions Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Agriculture Movement and Ramsey School Board for 22 years; was former mayor of Ramsey and former trustee of Shafter Township.
Survived by: special friend, Marilyn VanUytven of Ramsey; son, Kris Adermann and Mistie of Ramsey; daughters, Michelle Neely and Matthew of Springfield, Becky Eddy and Bill of Ramsey, and Paula Caylor of Mulberry Grove; grandchildren, Kristen, Kara, Kyle, Kolten, Kendell, Addison, Lillian, Shawna, Callie, Alexis and Carson; six great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Meyer of Ramsey; and nieces whom he raised, Becky Bauerle and Pedo, Teresa Wyatt and Bob, and Bobbie Burdette.
Preceded in death by: parents and a sister, Jean Reece.
