Mary Ann Oldfield, 73, of Saint Elmo, passed away at 10:59 a.m., on Friday, October 13th, 2023 at Aperion Care St. Elmo while surrounded by family.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mary Ann was born on May 6, 1950 in East Saint Louis, IL to Jim and Norma (Weissert) Warhoover. Mary Ann was the oldest of twelve children. She attended Althoff Catholic High School, where she graduated in 1968. Mary Ann married Jesse Oldfield on October 9, 1970 in O’Fallon, IL and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2014.
Mary Ann and her husband moved to Saint Elmo in 1977. They owned and operated Mary Ann’s Country Harvest for 18 years, from 1996 to 2014, where she loved serving the community and made many lifelong friends. Mary Ann had an unconditional love for her family. In addition to raising her children, she also helped to take care of her younger siblings and her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling during her earlier days, watching Hallmark movies in her later days, and always spending time with her family. Mary Ann took pride in being known as “Mema” to not only her family, but also to many others who loved her.
She is survived by: her son, James (Daphne) Oldfield; her daughter Michelle Oldfield; her grandchildren, Jacob (fiancée Anna Habarth) Denton, Dalton Denton (Sydney Rosborough), Megan Denton (Denver Duckwitz), Kinley Miller, Kendra Denton, James (Katie) Manning, Sean (Lindsey) Manning, and Brandi (Tim) Chapman; her siblings, Ruth (Don) Blue, Rose (Mark) Whitcomb, Pattie (Dave) Schaeffer, Ron Warhoover (Sherry Moomau), Jane (Doug) Buxton, Jean Moore, John (Ginnie) Warhoover, Joan (Steve) Waltrip, Judy (Charlie) Wall, Jerry (Nancy) Warhoover; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Tina Warhoover and Cheri Ellis Warhoover; brother-in-law Orin (Patti) Sampson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years; her parents; her parents-in-law, Jack and Virginia Schulze; her granddaughter, Jessica Oldfield; her brother, Jim Warhoover; her brothers-in-law, Doyle Moore and Zeke Sampson; and her sister-in-law, Jean Harper.
