Salle McMinis

Salle Peyroux McMinis was born in Brownstown, Illinois on March 24, 1934.  Raised by Berniece and Archie Davis, Salle graduated in 1952 from Illinois’ Brownstown Community High School.

Her careers included working for the Grolier Encyclopedia Company in Chicago, serving as Continuity Director for a local radio station in Centralia, IL, and as Southern Director for the Gregory System in New Orleans.  Salle was an avid bridge player who earned Life Master status.  She had a lifelong passion for cooking that led her to earn her Cuisine Certificate at Le Cordon Bleu school in Paris.

Salle also enjoyed fashion, art, politics and travel.  Salle passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2023.  She is preceded in death by husbands, Richard Duncan, Robert Peyroux and Jon McMinis.  She leaves her daughter, Jill Duncan, her sister, Beverly Agena and her nieces Alicia Couzins and Romona Agena to mourn her passing.
