Danny L. Beck, 73, of Vandalia, IL, passed away the morning of Friday, May 05, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family.

Per Danny’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. A Private Interment will be held in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.

Danny Lee Beck was born on October 24, 1949 in Bluff City, IL, the son of Fleming and Dorothy (Bolyard) Beck. He married Paula Jean Davison on October 21, 1972; together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. 

Danny retired after 37 years of employment from SBL Fayette County Hospital; where he worked in maintenance. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Danny was a lover of all animals, enjoyed playing cards, all genres of music, riding his motorcycle when able, and of course, cherished the time spent with his family. 

Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Paula Beck; son, Jeremy Beck & wife Mary Alice; daughters, Sarah & husband Kenny Long Jr. and Dana & husband Jim Smith, all of Vandalia; sister, Linda Ricke of Fillmore; 8 grandsons, Matthew Beck & Hayley, Jakob Beck & Chelsea, Ejay Beck, Eli Beck & Makayla, Wyatt Beck & Tori, Garrett Long, Dalton Smith & Kayla, Devin Smith; and great-grandchildren, Anberlin Smith, Kynlee Smith, Zoe Beck, Austin Beck, Adalynn Beck, and one on the way. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Beck, Jerry Beck, and David Beck; sisters, Pat Wasser and Susie Beck.
