Richard E. “Dick” Peek, 81, of Fillmore, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at his home in Fillmore, IL.

 

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore, IL. He was born January 15, 1941, in Springfield, IL, the son of Charles Wesley & Marcella (Carter) Peek. Married Bessie Cole on August 13, 2019, in Vandalia, IL. Dick was a hard worker all his life, starting at the age of 14. He worked out of the Teamsters Local 916 for 28 years and retired from the City of Springfield, IL. He was a lifelong motorcycle rider who set the standards and always led the way; very avid hunter, fisherman, and master trapper; and was the Illinois State Champion Trap Shooter in 1971.

 

He is survived by: Wife – Bessie Peek, Fillmore, IL; Children – Richard “Rick” Kueper & Marisue, Riverton, IL, Chuck Peek & Gale, Sherman, IL, and Debi Peek, Springfield, IL; 6 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; Sister – Marcy Schneider, Jefferson, IN; and Several Nieces & Nephews.
