Pastor Harry Carter Kirk, 75, of Fillmore, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, at his home in Fillmore, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Grace Fellowship Church, Fillmore, IL with Pastor Myron Kirk officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the church. Memorials: Liberty Church, Bingham, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Fillmore, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born August 28, 1947, in Hillsboro, IL, the son of William Joseph & Janice Jean (Carter) Kirk. He married Janice L. Gibson on April 27, 1966, in Ramsey, IL. He graduated from Nokomis High School in 1965 and graduated from Greenville College in 1971. He was a teacher and a coach at Hillsboro Junior High School for 35 years. He was the pastor at Liberty Church in Bingham, IL for 17 1/2 years and taught Sunday School for many years; he and his wife were foster parents for 15 years; he was once the manager at Escape Teen Center in Hillsboro; was awarded the Service to Mankind award from the Seratoma Breakfast Club in Hillsboro. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing and he especially loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by: Mother – Janice J. Kirk, Vandalia, IL; Wife – Janice L. Kirk, Fillmore, IL; Son – Steve Kirk, Springfield, IL; Daughters – Kim Draper, Hillsboro, IL, Kelli Pryor & Tim, Ramsey, IL, and Kerry Schreiber & Fiance’ Dennis DuPage, Pekin, IL; Grandchildren – Dalton, Richard and Connor Kirk, Alex, Sheridan and Ethan Schreiber, Sadie and Gretta Simon, Jack and Owen Draper, T.J. Pryor & Alisha, and Tyler Pryor; Great Grandchildren – Finn and Scarlett Pryor; Brother – Mark Kirk & Molly, Vandalia, IL; Brother-in-law – Dick Gibson & Jody, Centralia, IL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
