Melissa Ann Willms, 66, of Brownstown, IL, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at her home.

A Private Graveside Service & Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Dr. Kevin Childers officiating. Melissa Ann Tessman was born on September 16, 1956 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Joyce (Powers) Tessman. She married David Willms on November 08, 1975; together they celebrated nearly 47 years of marriage and raised three daughters.

Melissa was an emergency room and surgical nurse; for the past 10 years she was the Operating Room Manager for SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. 

She is survived by her husband David Willms of Brownstown; daughters, Heather and husband Scott Kramer of Farina, Jennifer and husband Andy Elam of Brownstown, Emily and husband Aaron Alderson of Vandalia; brother, Fred Tessman of Vandalia; and grandchildren, Austin Schwarm, Lauren Kramer, Anna Kramer, Madelyn Elam, Lily Elam, Aida Alderson, Ellie Alderson, Amelia Alderson, and Ainsley Alderson.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Tessman.
