Steven M. Braun, 72, of Vandalia, IL, passed away peacefully at 2:30 PM, Saturday, September 03, 2022 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL with family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00PM, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Christy and Bob Warner’s residence (2 miles south then 1 mile east of Bluff City) with a Memorial Service at 5:00PM. Private Interment will take place at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center or to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois. Steven Michael Braun was born on June 19, 1950 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Kenneth L. and H. Arlene (Pryor) Braun. He married Nancy Oldham in 1999; she still survives. 

Steve was a simple man. Strong, hardworking, down to earth, and cherished the time spent with his family more than anything; often capturing the many moments they shared by video or photography. He loved the outdoors and working on the farm alongside his dad and brother. 

Mr. Braun is survived by his daughter, Tina and husband, John Kaiser of Vandalia; son, Curtis Braun and wife, Nickie of Salem; son, Cory Braun of Vandalia; brother, Randy Braun and wife, Terri of Vandalia; sister, Christy and husband, Bob Warner of Vandalia; and his grandchildren, Bradyn, Ryan, Lauren, Brock, Michael, and Conrad.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
