Robert “Bob” L. Brule, 91, Vandalia

Robert “Bob” LaVerle Brule, age 91, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 12:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at SBL Fayette County Hospital.

Bob was born on July, 18, 1931, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Fred and Isabell (Engles) Daniels. He married his longtime sweetheart, Doris Grubaugh, on March 3, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He worked at Benner Nawman as an assembly person for many years.  He was a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Bob loved hunting, fishing, and repairing clocks and watches. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Alva Mike (Bridgett) Engle, sister Shirley (Glenn) Doehring. He is survived by sisters Evelyn (Grover) Bennett, Sherry (Carl) Clymer, Phyllis (Gerald) Gable, brother James (LaVonna) Daniels and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15, at 10:00 AM at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL with Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crown Point Church; where Bob was a member or SBL Long Term Care.
