Dr. William E. Stringer, 95, Vandalia

Dr. William E. Stringer, 95, of Vandalia, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at SBL Fayette County Hospital, LTC, Vandalia.

Dr. Stringer was born on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1926, in Pineland, Texas, the son of Drennon Clarence and Julia I. (Nations) Stringer. He married Jean Joenne Payne.
He practiced dentistry in Vandalia, IL for more than 50 years. He was also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 46 years and enjoyed many volunteer activities with its organization. He also enjoyed playing golf, camping in his motor home, flying as a licensed pilot and traveling around the world.
He is survived by: sons, Scott Thomas Stringer and Karen, William Edward Stringer and Cheryl, Richard Lingle Stringer and Malin, and Joseph Michael Stringer; daughter, Tama Beiling and Brian; grandchildren, Eric Beiling and Jedidiah “JD” Stringer; brother, Win Stringer and Christine; and sister, Nell Laswell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Durwood Stringer; and sister, Virginia Mabry.
