Diane Elizabeth Plum, 68, of Vandalia, passed away at 8:04 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Altamont with Pastor Maria Bonine officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Following services, there will be a celebration of life at the Vandalia Moose Lodge Post 1447. Diane Elizabeth was born on February 25, 1953 in Vandalia, the daughter of Maurice and Margaret (Livesay) Smith. She married Gary Ray Plum on August 13, 1996; together they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
Diane was employed by World Color Press in Effingham where she worked in quality control for 30 years; retiring in 2004 when the company dissolved. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 2055 Auxiliary in Centralia.
Diane was a kind hearted, wonderful wife, mother, Mamaw and friend; doing anything and everything for those around her. She enjoyed cooking for all, playing BINGO, bowling, and most of all, attending her grandchildren’s events.
Mrs. Plum is survived by her husband, Gary Plum of Vandalia; daughter, Megan and husband Josh Kuenstler of Altamont; step-daughters, Christina Harrelson of Key West, FL and Charity Plum of Vero Beach, FL; step-sons, Sam Plum of St. Elmo and Josh Plum and wife Karen of Chattanooga, TN; brother-in-law, Roger Hagy of North Winter Haven, FL; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy Hagy.
