David Paul Sarchet, 71, of Clinton, formerly of Vandalia

David Paul Sarchet, 71, of Clinton, formerly of Vandalia,passed away at 5:40 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at The Loft Rehabilitation of Rock Springs, Decatur.

Per the request of the family, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services at this time. Interment will take place in Pilcher Cemetery, Brownstown, at a later date. Mr. Sarchet was born on December 22, 1949 in Vandalia, the son of Paul and Betty (Roberts) Sarchet. David attended school for the hard of hearing and also school to be a small engine mechanic. He was employed by Firestone in Vandalia for several years. When he wasn’t working there, he worked for Boggs’ Garage. David loved being a mechanic, working, frying chicken, fishing, and gardens. No matter what he went through, he always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his sisters, Pauletta Mason of Clinton, Debra Huber of Vandalia, and Sherry Evans of Vandalia; brothers, Brian Sarchet of Clinton, Danny Sarchet of Vandalia, and Steve Sarchet; several nieces and nephews; and many more friends and family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brad Sarchet; and an infant sister.
