David Douglas Tackett, 58, of Bluff City, passed away at 11:46 PM, Thursday, June 03, 2021 at his home.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 08, at Northside Christian Church, Vandalia with Rev. Dennis Warner officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, at the church. Memorials may be made to Northside Christian Church. Mr. Tackett was born on April 19, 1963 in Centralia, the son of Glenn “Skinny” and Margaret “Peg” (Rush) Tackett. He married Donna Rae Elam on October 8, 1987; together they celebrated nearly 34 years of marriage.
David was a laborer operating out of the Laborers’ International Union Local 1197 for 30 years. He was a member of Northside Christian Church. David just enjoyed work; he loved mowing the yard and working on anything and everything he could get his hands on.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Tackett of Bluff City; daughter, Brandy Werner of Brownstown; son, Tyler Tackett of Brownstown; daughter, April and husband Sean Lockart of Ramsey; step-daughter, Theresa Everest of Springfield; step-son: John Kelley of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Kaylee Laws, Devon Dial, Hunter Dial , James Dial, Hailey Frailey, Brailee Lockart, Delaney Lockart, Braxton Diggs, Payton Diggs, Aiden Tackett, Cayden Tackett, Brittany Riddle, Brianna Porter, and Jacob Everest; and a great-grandson, Robbie Robinett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Tackett; and sister, Rose Pruett.
