Glenda “Darlene” Holman, 78, of Vandalia, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A Graveside Service and Interment were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 28, at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Mrs. Holman was born on February 05, 1943 in Soddy-Daisy, TN, the daughter of Paul Albert and Charlcie “Chart” (Harris) Roddy. She married James W. “Jim” Holman on July 13, 1966 in Las Vegas, NV; together they raised two sons and celebrated 43 years of marriage before his passing on February 01, 2010.
Darlene was an in-home daycare provider while she resided in both Tennessee and Illinois. She enjoyed playing BINGO and loved watching major league baseball; cheering on her favorite team, the Mets. She was affiliated with the Church of God, Vandalia.
She is survived by her sons, Eric Holman and wife Michelle and Scott Holman and wife Mary, both of Vandalia; grandchildren, Madisyn Holman, Alexie Holman, Kaylin Holman, and Nolan Holman, all of Vandalia; sisters, Sheila and husband Ken Walston of Cleveland, TN and Dora Lou Agajanian of Canyon Lake, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
