Inez R. Sidwell, 86, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at her son’s home in Brownstown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, with Rev. Michael Plummer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29, prior to the service, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia.

She was born February 18, 1935, in Mason, the daughter of James Russell and Ida Matilda (Campton) Vanpelt. She was a laborer at Crane Packing and a department manager at Wal-Mart, both in Vandalia, and former member of Liberty Baptist Church in Georgia.
She is survived by her son, Brian Westendorf and Tammy, Brownstown; daughters, Nancy Schmidt, Bethalto; Brenda Denise and Jim, Palm Bay, FL; Becky Haremaker, Springfield; Kay Miller & Everett, Coffeen; Kathy Mueller and Rick, Jerseyville; Linda Rigdon and Ty, Vandalia; Rose Boudreau, Albany, GA, and Terri Flemming and Kerry, Decatur; 19 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Morgan Craig; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James Vanpelt, and sister, Esther Kemme.
