The Vandalia Lady Vandals added two in the win column this past week as they defeated Roxana and Gillespie, and are now 7-7 on the year, 5-4 in the conference.
Vs. Roxana
The Vandals traveled to Roxana on Thursday night, April 8, for a fruitful outing. They took the match in two close games, 25-22 and 28-26.
Lexi Wehrle and Morgan Lidy each had 5 kills on the night, and Lidy had one dig. Olivia Dunn and Abby Guffey each had 4 kills, with Dunn having 3 digs, and Guffey having one, in addition to 3 aces. Sydney Miller had 4 aces and 4 digs; Worker had 10 digs; and Elizabeth Barenfanger had 2 digs and one kill on the night.
Guffey also had 17 assists for the match.
The JV lost a close one in three, 25-16, 23-25, 22-25
Vs. Gillespie
The Vandals had an easy night of it Monday night, April 12, as they dispatched the Lady Miners, 25-13, 25-15.
For the Vandals, Wehrle had 7 kills on the night, and one dig, and Lidy had 5 kills and 1 assist. Guffey had 2 aces on the night, as well as 2 kills and a dig. She also had 9 assists. Lauren Hagy had 2 kills and an ace; Barenfanger had a dig; Dunn, one kill; Elika Whiteman had 2 assists and an ace, and Miley Worker had 5 digs, and an assist.
Vandalia will face Hillsboro tonight, Thursday, at home.
