One charged in early morning criminal damage spree Tuesday

The Vandalia Police Department was notified at 6:12 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, of a broken window at the Vandalia Post Office.
Shortly after, more damage was discovered downtown – at Vandalia City Hall, FNB on Gallatin St., Howie’s on Main, Old State Capital, Something Special, the Vandalia radio station, and Fayette County Museum.
The suspect also broke three flag poles on Gallatin St.
At 7:21 a.m., Rodney D. Tedrick, 52, was detained for questioning. At. 8:04 a.m., he was transported to the Fayette County Jail for booking on six felony charges of criminal damage to government supported property and five charges of criminal damage to property.
The investigation is ongoing.
