Firemen battle shed fire on Thursday

Donny Tate, in back, and Zac Kopp, foreground, fight a shed fire at 1313 W. Edwards Street last week, owned by Pat Ambuehl. The call came in at 3:53 p.m. with 19 firefighters responding. The main garage and attached building had severe damage, including a truck which was parked inside. There were no injuries according to Vandalia Fire Chief Mark Meadows and firefighters were on scene for 1.5hrs. Meadows reports the cause of the blaze was a fire started in a wood stove.
