Verizon store officially opens
After being quietly open since late March, the Verizon Wireless store in Vandalia officially opened its doors on May 12 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
Located in the Vandalia Commons shopping center near Wal-Mart, the store – operated by Russell Cellular of Battlefield, Mo. – is a full-service Verizon Wireless premium store.
The store offers new activations, service upgrades, account analysis and mobile broadband services. In addition to phones, the store also sells Direct TV.
Hours at the local store are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Russell Cellular has 167 locations in nine states. It has more than 550 employees. The company’s website is: www.russellcellular.com.
“We came into the Vandalia market because we felt that the area needed a full-service Verizon store,” said Lester Laur, district sales manager for Russell Cellular. “As a premium store, we can do everything here.”
The local staff includes store manager Dustin Morlan, and wireless specialists Mike Pearson and Andi Hughey.
