ExxonMobil Annuitants

The ExxonMobil Annuitants Club met on Oct. 31 at Chinatown Restaurant in Litchfield, with 38 members and two guests present.
President Dean Black welcomed all members and guests followed by the pledge to the flag. A moment of silence was given fora the death of member Charles Hainaut. LaVerne Laux gave the blessing before the meal.
After the meal, Black called the meeting to order. Vice President Mike Mulhern introduced two new members: Robert and Mary Lou Brown. Members all introduced themselves.
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
Birthdays and anniversaries for October were also read.
Exxon grants were discussed. Mulhern announced that applications for the grants were on the table, as well as copies of member profiles that may have been added since they purchased their biography books.
He also noted that there is a new cover sheet for the biography book, which he distributed.
A Halloween crossword fill-in was given to everyone, and Becky Bergman was the first to complete hers. It was then announced that the answers were on the reverse side of the puzzle. That was the “trick,” and “treats” were then given out to everyone present.
Black announced that next month’s meeting would be held on Nov. 21 in Vandalia at Ponderosa Steakhouse, and that in order to save money for the Christmas luncheon, the group is asking that members pay for their own lunches at that time.
Members present were Roger and Becky Bergman, Dean and Elloise Black, Robert and Mary Lou Brown, D.R. and Pat Caldwell, Harry and Betty Craddick, Dallas and Jo Fairley, Marty Gorman, Evelyn Hainaut, Frank and Carolyn Heigert, Carolyn Johnson, LaVerne and Don Laux, Cy and Lorene Locke, Dick and Barb Lounsbury, Paul and Nancy Mihalek, Dick and Barb Mottershaw, Mike and Laura Mulhern, Tom and Nancy Neunaber, David and Dinah Poe, Jim Sprayberry, Doris Thomas, Norma Volkert and Junior and Betty Williams.
