? The monthly meeting of the Fayette Teen Issues Coalition will be held at noon in the library at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia. ? The Lighthouse Pregnancy Center Share-athon will air on WJLY Radio in Ramsey (88.3 FM) from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m.

? Al-Anon will meet at 8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church on Fillmore Street in Vandalia.

Friday, November 9

? The Lighthouse Pregnancy Center Share-athon will air on WJLY Radio in Ramsey (88.3 FM) from 7-9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

? The annual Fayette County 4-H Achievement Night will be held at 7 p.m. at the Brownstown Elementary School. The public is invited to attend the program, which is held to honor 4-H members, leaders and volunteers. Refreshments will be served from 6:30-7 p.m. and after the program.

? The Jefferson Primary School Fun Fair will be held. A chili supper runs from 5-7:30 p.m., and a carnival runs from 5:30-8 p.m.

Saturday, November 10

? The local MS support group will meet from 10 a.m.-noon in the Fayette County Hospital conference room.

? The Girl Scouts of Shagbark Councill will hold a Fayette County Caring & Sharing luau from 2-4 p.m. at Parkview Free Methodist Church, 1507 W. Jefferson St., Vandalia. The cost is $4 for registered Girl Scouts and $14 for non-registered friends, with financial assistance available The fee covers a snack and a fun patch. Those attending are asked to take an unwrapped toy valued at between $3 and $5. To RSVP or obtain more information, contact Lea Ritchey, 283-1945.

? The Women of First Church of God will hold a chili supper from 4-7 p.m. at the church, 3001 Thrill Hill Road, to raise funds to support missions. The menu will include chili, a choice of hot dog or peanut butter sandwich, cake, cookies and drinks. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 4-10, with children under 3 allowed to eat free of charge.

? A benefit to help pay the medical expenses of Becky Bynum Warner will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Home on West St. Louis Avenue in Vandalia. The benefit, which begins at 5 p.m. will include a Dutch auction, cash bar, music by a DJ and a 50/50 drawing.

Sunday, November 11

VETERANS’ DAY

? A benefit for Jane Scott will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Brownstown Fire House. The benefit will include a meal, auction, raffle, cake walk and 50/50 drawing. The cost of the meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-10, and the menu will include ribeye sandwiches, porkburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips and drinks, with dessert available for an extra $1.

? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 will hold a Veterans’ Day program at 1:30 p.m. at the Post Home, 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. Bill Donaldson will be the keynote speaker. Refreshments will be available after the program. The post’s Avenue of Flags will be on display, weather permitting.

? The Ramsey American Legion Post will hold a dedication service for the recently completed Ramsey Veterans’ Memorial. The service will be held at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Home. A reception will follow the service.

Monday, November 12

? The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board will meet at 5:45 p.m., and the regular club meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m.

? The Fayette County cancer support group will meet at 7 p.m. in the conference room at Fayette County Hospital. Dr. Jed Cox will be discussing the benefits of accupuncture.

Tuesday, November 13

? The Fayette County Health Department will hold a flu shot clinic from 9-10:30 a.m. at Harmon’s Market on Veterans Avenue in Vandalia.

? The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

? The Vandalia Day Unit of Home and Community Education will meet at 1 p.m. at the Fayette County Extension Office in Vandalia.

? The Vandalia Optimist Club will meet at 6 p.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

? Evans Public Library will hold a lapsit story time at 6 p.m. The story time has been rescheduled due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The story time will include stories, songs and finger plays.

? The Fayette County Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom on the second floor of the Fayette County Courthouse.

? The monthly meeting of the Evans Public Library Board of Trustees will be held at 7 p.m. at the library. The meeting is open to the public.

? AmVets will meet at 8 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Vandalia.

Wednesday, November 14

? A Project Parenting playgroup for children up through 5 years old will be held from 10-11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo.

? TOPS IL 2020 will meet at 5:45 p.m. in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:45 p.m.

? Bible Blitz will be held from 7-8 p.m. at Parkview Free Methodist Church, which is located at 1507 W. Jefferson St. in Vandalia, for all children age 3 through sixth-grade age. Bible Blitz includes Bible study, music, crafts and games. The church also offers a youth group for junior high- and high school-aged students, as well as an adult Bible Study. All gatherings are open to the public.

Thursday, November 15

? Soroptimist International of Vandalia meets at noon at Days Inn.

? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at Fayette County Hospital. All presenting donors will receive a St. Louis Rams T-shirt.
