? The annual Jump for Joel spaghetti dinner will be held from 5-7 p.m. at First Christian Church in St. Elmo. The cost is a donation.
Saturday, September 24
? The third annual Jump for Joel marathon will be held. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Pinnacle Foods parking lot, and the walk/run/bike ride marathon begins at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $26.20, with proceeds going to Jump for Joel's work at the Gathiga Children's Hope Home in Africa.

? A benefit for the Brand Wilkerson family, which lost its home and possessions in a fire, will be held at 2 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. The benefit will include music by "Substance" and multiple gun raffles. A meal will be served, with the cost being $7 for adults and $4 for children, with children age 5 and under allowed to eat free of charge.
Monday, September 26
? The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board will meet at 5:15 p.m., and the regular club meeting is at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, September 27
? The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon-6 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. The drive is sponsored by the Vandalia Rotary Club and the Vandalia Woman's Club.
