    Jr. Club wrestling results Most of the Vandalia Jr. wrestling club participated in an event in Troy on Feb. 13. Individual results are below:

  • Jr. Club wrestling results (Jan. 29-30 and Feb. 5-6)
    The Vandalia Jr. Club wrestlers participated in three different events this past weekend. Saturday, Feb. 5 at O'Fallon, Mo. •Markus Isaiah got first place in the 65-pound division •Anthony Enlow got first place in the midget heavyweight division •Garret Stewart got sixth place in the 95-pound division •Jake Stewart got second place in the 125-pound division.
  • Jr. Club wrestlers battle in Springfield
    The Vandalia Jr. Club wrestlers competed at the IKWF Jon Davis Memorial Open Tournament in Springfield on Sunday. Approximately 1,400 wrestlers competed during the tournament. The following individuals participated for Vandalia:

  • Vandalia softball champs inducted to HOF
    The Vandalia men's fast pitch softball teams that won Class A national championships in 2005 and 2007 will be inducted into the Illinois Amateur Softball Association's Hall of Fame in April. On April, 9, members of Vandalia Freight, along with seven individual players and four other teams from the state, will be honored at a ceremony at the Decatur Hotel and Convention Center.

  • Longtime Vandalia bowler featured by USBC
    Longtime Vandalia resident and league bowler Farrell Gruenbaum, seen below, second from the left, with teammates at the 1970 Women's International Bowling Congress tournament in Tulsa, Okla., was recently the subject of a feature article by the United States Bowling Congress. The article was published on the USBC's website, www.bowl.com. Gruenbaum bowled in leagues for more than 80 years and will celebrate her 100th birthday on Jan. 19.
