  • Both Vandalia eighth-grade teams win

    The Vandalia Jr. High eighth-grade boys and girls each won basketball games in the past week.

    Last Friday, the girls won in the final home game of the season, defeating Ramsey, 25-6.

    Sarah Bigelow led in scoring with eight points, while Madison Klanke added six and Emma Meyer scored three.
    Bailey Arndt, Lindsay Dagen, Molly Kern and Maddie Wilkerson each added two points.

    Last Thursday, the boys defeated Ramsey, 44-29.

    The Jr. Vandals held the Jr. Rams scoreless in the first period and built a 23-6 halftime lead.

    The St. Peter Lady Saints traveled to Springfield to compete in the LSA State Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.
    They finished in eighth place out of 24 teams.
    Turkey Supper
    St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School are having a turkey supper on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. in the school gym.

    Mahala Harpster of Gray Summit, Mo., and fiancé Nathan Jacquin of Washington, Mo., spent the weekend with Mahala’s parents, Dane and Belinda Harpster of St. Peter.

  • Bullying Prevention Presentations at VES

    Vanessa Wright of SAFE (Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies) visited Vandalia Elementary School last Thursday to give presentations on preventing bullying.

    Kaskaskia College invites its new students to attend New Student Orientation on the Vandalia Campus.
    The free program is designed to introduce students to information and contacts important for a successful start of their college experience.
    Information about services, activities and classroom success strategies will be included. Students will be given resources they will be able to use throughout their time at KC.
