  • Pritzker wants graduated tax structure

    SPRINGFIELD – Gov. J.B. Pritzker made clear Wednesday that he believes solving the state’s long-term financial problems will require a new, graduated income tax structure that imposes higher taxes on upper-income Illinoisans.
    But that would require a constitutional amendment, a lengthy process which, even if approved, would not make any new money available to the state until the 2021-2022 budget year.

    • 106 pounds, Jarek Wehrle – Won by fall over Gage Lopez of Auburn, 1:09; lost to Joel Mylin of Aurora Catholic; won by fall over Julian Decker of Wilmington in second round of wrestlebacks, 3:23; won by decision, 7-5, over Jaxson Roberts of Herscher in third round of wrestlebacks; lost by fall to Billy Tay of Ridgview, 0:59, in fourth round of wrestlebacks; lost by decision, 2-1, to Matthew Minick of Belleville Althoff – SIXTH PLACE.

    All three Vandalia wrestlers who made it to the IHSA Individual State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend returned home with a medal.
