  • Northside Church offering series

    Jim Quick from Bond Camp will be delivering a series based on the show “Fixer Upper” at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia, beginning on Sunday at 6 p.m.
    The series includes: week 1, Fix Up Yourself; week 2, Fix Up Your Family; week 3, Fix Up Your Spiritual Life; week 4, Fix Up Your Finances; and week 5, Fix Up Your Church.
    The public is invited to participate in the series.

  • FS supporting Meals on Wheels

    South Central FS is partnering with Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. to celebrate Older American’s Month during May.
    South Central FS has chosen to show their support of the aging population by donating $.01 of each gallon of ethanol-blended fuel purchased during May at one of their Fast Stop stores, in either Effingham, Flora or Vandalia (Hillsboro Road location only) to the Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. program.

  • Golden Circle Menus

    The Golden Circle Nutrition Program, located at 616 W. Jackson St., Vandalia provides meals in a comfortable setting to people 60 years and older and their spouses.
    There are no income guidelines or any type of restrictions besides the age limit. Meals are prepared by Deb’s Catering of Altamont and delivered fresh daily.
    The suggested donation is $3 for meals.

  • Friends & Families of FCH holding 5K event on May 12

    Friends & Families of Fayette County Hospital will hold their annual Heart & Sole 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 12.
    Registration is from 7-7:45 a.m. and the event begins at 8 a.m. at the Vandalia Shrine Club, East 2000 Ave.
    The entry fee is $25. The signup deadline to guarantee a T-shirt was Saturday, but for those who signup this week, T-shirts will be made and handed out.
    Make checks payable to Friends & Families of Fayette County Hospital.
