By The Staff

Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman has asked for clarification of points he made during last week’s city council meeting in regards to the auto accident in which he was involved.
Gottman said that an officer who drove by the accident scene did not specifically not cite the need for an accident report, only that he asked whether the parties needed assistance.
The mayor also said that he did not specifically say the damage was less than $1,500, only that it was minor damage, and that he was not serving patrons at Wine & Ale with Abe, but taking tickets.
