VCHS band hosts invitational

A clarinet player from Champaign Centennial High School band gives it his all during the field competition. The Centennial band won the Class AA field contest and placed second in the parade competition, behind Mascoutah High School.

A horn player from Mascoutah High School marches in the parade competition. Mascoutah won the Class AA parade contest, and was given top ranking for its percussion section.

The Marching Rams band from Ramsey High School placed third in the Class A parade competition Saturday morning. Rain began to fall just as the last band competed.

Craig Spearman of the Marching Vandals plays his trumpet during the VCHS band’s field performance on Saturday. The field competition had to be moved to the gymnasium due to rain. As the host school, the VCHS band participated as an exhibition entry.

The Vandalia Junior High School marching band participated as an exhibition entry in the Class A marching competition. Brownstown High School won the Class A parade competition and also was awarded top prize in the color guard contest.
