Jan. 15
• 5:03 a.m. – Officers responded to the 400 block of West Randolph Street for a report of a domestic dispute. One individual involved left the residence.
• 10:02 a.m. – Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at Veterans Avenue and Sunset Drive. No injuries were reported.
• 1:59 p.m. – An officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 51 at the 63-mile exit. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Dalia Salloum, 31, of New Jersey, collided with a northbound vehicle when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Salloum was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. In injuries were reported.

• 7:31 p.m. – An officer took a complaint of phone harassment.
• 7:33 p.m. – An officer took a report of deceptive practices.
• 10:40 p.m. – An officer responded to a burglar alarm at Vandalia Community High School. The officer determined that the building was secure.
• 11:02 p.m. – An officer responded to a burglar alarm at the Family YMCA on Rock Island Avenue. The alarm had malfunctioned.
• Officers responded to three citizen/motorist assist calls.

• Colton Brown, 21, of Vandalia, was arrested on a charge of driving while his license is suspended.
• 7:26 a.m. – Officers took a report of a theft in the 1500 block of North Seventh Street.
• 6:36 p.m. – Officers took a report of retail theft in the 200 block of Mattes Avenue.
• 6:39 p.m. – Officers took a report of trespassing in the 200 block of Mattes Avenue.

• 4:24 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft in the 1300 block of Tower Street.
• 7:51 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft in the 200 block of Kennedy Boulevard.
• 10:34 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of West Gallatin Street.

• 12:50 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft of a license plate.
• 5:20 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Janett Avenue.
• 6 p.m. – Officers took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of North First Street.

• 1:51 a.m. – An officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Rogier Park. The officer told the driver of the vehicle to leave the park, as it was closed.
• 5:20 a.m. – Officers responded to a panic alarm on the third floor of Fayette County Hospital. It was a false alarm.
• 8:19 a.m. – An officer responded to the 61-mile exit of Interstate 70 for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
• 8:24 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 900 block of West Madison Street.
• 3:33 p.m. – An officer responded to the 1400 block of Veterans Avenue for a vehicle stuck in the mud just off of Interstate 70. The vehicle was driven out of the mud and parked until assistance arrived.
• 3:50 p.m. – An officer responded to the 100 block of South Montgomery St. for a complaint of a dog at large. Animal control was called to the scene and the owner was ticketed for allowing the dog to run loose.
• 5:12 p.m. – Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Fifth and Gallatin streets. No other information was given.
• 6:36 p.m. – Sandra Steinkamp, 50, of Vandalia, was given a notice to appear in court on a charge of driving while her license is suspended and was given a verbal warning for having an obstructed rear license plate.
• 8:05 p.m. – An officer took a complaint of phone harassment.
• 9:18 p.m. – Officers responded to the 600 block of South Seventh Street for a report of a prowler seen in a vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the prowler, and nothing was taken from the vehicle.
• 10:25 p.m. – Officers responded to the 2700 block of Clinton Street for a burglar alarm. Officers determined that the residence was secure.
• 10:37 p.m. – An officer responded to a burglar alarm at the VFW Home on West St. Louis Avenue. An employee had inadvertently set off the alarm.
• Officers responded to nine citizen/motorist assists.
Jan. 10
• 12:53 a.m. – An officer responded to the area of Sixth and Orchard streets for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver told the officer that he had stopped to eat, and was told to move along.
• 5:53 a.m. – An officer responded to Murphy’s USA on Mattes Avenue for a report of a disorderly person on the lot. An officer told that person that he was trespassing and was given a ride home.
• 8:02 a.m. – An officer responded to the 200 block of West Orchard Street for a report of theft from a vehicle.
• 12:22 p.m. – An officer took a complaint of a child custody issue.
• 1:25 p.m. – An officer took a complaint of a property dispute.
• 3:42 p.m. – An officer responded to Murphy’s USA on Mattes Avenue for a report of individuals asking for money. An officer told the individuals to move along.
• 7:27 p.m. – An office responded to the parking lot of Walmart for a report of a reckless driver. An officer found the vehicle parked and advised the driver of the complaint.
• Officers responded to eight citizen/motorist assists.
