Three families moving to area

The families who made their home in Fayette County came from many places and situations, and for various reasons. In this column, I will touch on three of these families who, for the most part, settled in Bear Grove and Seminary townships.
The Jacob Cripe family was one of the first Pennsylvania Dutch families to settle in Fayette County. Born 1815 in Montgomery County, Ohio, he was the son of Jacob Cripe, who was “bound” to his father until he reached age 21.
