Ten from VJHS going to state

Ten members of the Vandalia Junior High School track teams have advanced to the IESA State Track Meet.
For the boys, advancing to state were Christian DuPlayee and Leo Krueger in the pole vault, at heights of 8 feet, 9 inches and 9 feet, 3 inches, respectively; and the 4x100 relay team of Pierson Wilkerson, Lendon Isaiah, Preston Nestrick and Matthew Hagy (Garrett Meyers is alternate).
On the girls side, seventh-graders Jenna Protz advanced by placing third in the discus at 79 feet, 10 inches and Josie Womack by placing fifth in the pole vault at 6 feet, 9 inches.
Eighth-graders advancing were Riley Ward, who was second in the shot put at 29 feet, 3.75 inches, and Dawsyn Evans, who was fifth in the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.
Other sectional results for the boys were: fifth place-Trevor Barker, shot put; and sixth place-Matthew Hagy, Hagy, 100-meter dash.
Other results for the seventh-grade girls are: fourth place-Anna Osborne, 100-meter dash and Shelby Bowles, shot put; fifth place, 4x200 relay team of Holly Lidy, Bowles, Gracye Davis and Morgan Dagen; sixth place-Areiana Rush, high jump.
Other results for the eighth-grade girls are: fourth place-4x100 relay team of Osborne, Evans, Rush and Jadie Keck; and 4x200 relay team of Kaylee Rosenkoetter, Kurstiana Sachan, Autumn Payne and Olivia Dunn.
