Summer Breeze planning wedding show
A wedding show will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb 17, at Summer Breeze Wine House in St. James.
Hours for the show are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Several vendors already have signed up to attend, including Davis Bakery, Jill Wright Photography, Serenity Therapeutic Massage and Fayette County Real Estate, with others pending. Maranatha's Salon, Spa and Tanning will be a vendor and will be selling new wedding dresses from the former Queen Bee bridal shop.
Organizers are also looking for catering, DJs, formal wear, wedding planners and invitation vendors. Space is limited, but there is room for several more.
Vendors whose business is related to weddings and bridal showers are asked to contact the winery at www.summerbreezewinehouse.com. A form is available on the website for potential vendors to fill out, or they can call 829-3805.
"Since we are a small location, instead of doing new dresses we came up with the idea to have a used bridal gown sale in addition to the vendors," said Tammy Lash, owner of Summer Breeze. "New, never-worn or in good condition, modern-style used wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and all wedding attire from veils to shoes will be sold on consignment."
Items can be brought to the wine house on Wednesday, Feb. 13, starting at noon and continuing until 5 p.m., and on Friday, Feb. 15, from noon until 5 p.m. Sellers will be charged a small fee to sell their wedding attire.
“We are in the process of purchasing a large tent that can be rented for outdoor events, and we will hopefully have it set up that day to view," said Lash. "We have recently added a small pergola, and will be adding several more features.
"People are pleasantly surprised at our surroundings and our building when they come out and visit. It’s really a perfect venue for a small country wedding or a bridal shower. And it's reasonably priced, compared to other venues.”
Several wines that are suited for weddings and showers will be available to sample.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $1 per person, with the ticket to be redeemed for a dollar off a glass of wine or soda that day.
Vendors will be offering special prices to those who book a shower or wedding while attending the bridal show.
Additionally, customers who book a shower or wedding during the show will be eligible for a door prize made up of products from all vendors present.
