South Central wins NTC Tourney consy

South Central scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Brownstown/St. Elmo, 3-2, in the consolation championship game of the National Trail Conference Tournament last Friday.
Aaron Patten was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Cougars offensively, and Logan Lotz picked up the win, striking out seven, walking one and allowing two runs on four hits.
Bryton Pruett took the loss for the Bombers, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out three and walking one.

South Central finished the fall season with a record of 12-7, and Brownstown/St. Elmo ended at 9-9-1.

South Central defeated Neoga, 10-4, in the NTC tournament last Wednesday.
Hunter Brandt was 2-for-3 with a home run, six RBI’s and a run scored for the Cougars.
Andrew Lybarger got the win for the Cougars, allowing six runs, two earned, while giving up seven hits, striking out six and walking two in four innings of work. Lybarger allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits with one strikeout over two innings, and Lotz struck out two in a scoreless seventh.

Brownstown/St. Elmo trounced Windsor/Stew-Stras in an NTC Tournament game last Wednesday.
Bryton Pruett was 4-for-5 for BSE, and Nate Philpot and Caleb Atwood each had three hits.
Jace McWhorter got the win, giving up six runs on seven hits while striking out seven and walking two.
