Richardson, Warner advance to IHSA bowling sectional

Two members of the Vandalia Community High School girls bowling team advanced to sectional competition as the team finished in seventh place in its first regional tournament.

Sophia Richardson had a six-game total of 1,100 pins to finish in fourth place, and Emma Warner had a total of 971 to finish eighth.
As a team, Vandalia had a 4,740 total. Herrin won the regional title with a 6,017 total, and other top finishers were: Harrisburg, 5,522; Salem, 5,361; Centralia, 5,085; Carbondale, 4,984; and Mt. Vernon, 4,753.
Richardson rolled games of 188, 224, 195, 169, 170 and 154. Warner’s six game scores were 151, 136, 150, 170, 170 and 194.
Other Vandalia bowlers were:
• Kayla Matthews – 131, 202, 137, 148, 170, 128-916 total.
• Kennedy Fiscus – 137, 134, 150, 135, 149, 114-819 total.
• Catti Hoffman – 151, 160, 173, 153, 145, 145-927 total.
Richardson and Warner will now compete in the IHSA Sectional this Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights.
